Well Field Control Building
Project type
Water Resources
Date
2019
Location
Ticonderoga, NY
Client
Town of Ticonderoga
The Town of Ticonderoga’s water infrastructure has been strained after many years of use. In 2011 Hurricane Irene ripped through the Adirondacks and further damaged the Town’s aging water infrastructure. Ticonderoga had to take the necessary actions to repair and make upgrades to the Town’s water infrastructure to provide safe, clean and reliable drinking water to the district users. AES Northeast was retained to provide professional services to plan, investigate, design and construct major upgrades to the Town’s aging water infrastructure. Working with the Town and other project stake holders, AES Northeast helped secure $13.6 million dollars of the nearly $13.8 million dollar estimated project cost from several NYS State funding agencies. AES Northeast planned the project, designed a new well control building with two (2) new wells each capable of producing 1.5 MGD of water, designed a 1.3 MG water storage tank and over 11,000 linear feet of transmission lines. AES Northeast also provided Project and Construction Management Services to ensure the goals of the Town were achieved and to have a successful project. The system went online in May of 2019 and is now providing clean, reliable drinking water to over 2,400 water district users.
